Join permanent absentee list
Registered voters can sign up to have absentee ballots sent to their residential address before each election. Not sure if you're registered? Check your registration status.
Ballots are sent to your residential address about 46 days before an election.

The quickest way to sign up is online. We recommend you apply two months before the next election.

Another way to apply is to download the Permanent Absentee Voter Application. Then return the completed application to your county election office via email, mail, or fax. We recommend you apply two months before the next election.
Going to be away from home?
If you will be away from your residence for an extended time before an election, contact your county election office.
Changes to your registration?
You will still be on the permanent absentee list if you update your registration to a new address in Minnesota. If you are no longer registered to vote in Minnesota, you will be removed from the list.
Cancelling permanent absentee status
If you would like to be removed from the permanent absentee list in the future, contact your county election office.
