What is a Safe at Home Lot Number?

A Safe at Home Lot Number is an important part of a participant’s address. Because all Safe at Home participants share the same PO Box, the participants are differentiated by a Lot Number which is unique to them. Each household is assigned a different Lot Number and sometimes if there is more than one adult living in the same household, they will be assigned different Lot Numbers.

When Mailing to a Participant
When mailing something to a Safe at Home participant you must always include the participant’s name and Lot Number.

When Calling to Verify Someone’s Participation
When calling the Safe at Home office to verify someone’s participation, you must give the Safe at Home office the potential participant’s name and Lot Number, or name and date of birth.  Safe at Home will confirm or deny participation.

Service of Process
The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State is the agent for service of process for all participants. In order for the Safe at Home office to accept service of process on behalf of a participant, you must include the participant’s name and Lot Number.
